American Eagle closing in San Juan, PR

I read that AMR is shuting down the ATR operations in SJU in 2013.

Any idea who will pick up the slack (PAXs) as they do fly a lot out of there?

I believe the operation is wholly owned (with leased aircraft) by a local businessman who flies under the AE banner. Do you think he may try to go it alone? I think a lot of their traffic is brought in by AMR jets so going it alone may be difficult to generate passengers.

Seems like the other operators are flying Cessana 402's which is a big gap from an ATR.

Any thoughts, news?
