Costa Rica options

Hello,
I am looking for any info people may have on working in Costa Rica for a local charter operation. I have looked and found some different companies that operate out of Costa Rica to the neighboring countries and inside of there. I am talking about companies that fly anything from 4 to 10 seaters, doing tourists, freight and whatever else they can do.
Do they hire expats? I am an American, 2800 hours. Sent emails to the companies that I have found websites for but havent heard anything back. Do you need to be present to have any chance of getting hired? If anyone knows anything, I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks

I applied to nature and paradise (where I have a good friend flying), they really hire few outsiders and when they do in order to work there you need to pass a Spanish test...
