Angel Validation of FAA to Argentine licence

Can anyone give advice on how to validate an FAA or a CAA licence for private flying in Argentina? In other words a piggy-back licence.

We have a BE35 in Argentina currently on FAA registration (with temp. permit for aerial recon. flying) but for various reasons need to change it to an Argentine registration.

Both the FAA & the CAA state that they need the Argentine authorities to contact them, rather than the other way around. In other words neither FAA or CAA will issue a letter validating my licence.

The Argentine authorities, on the other hand, require a letter of validation from FAA/CAA with some sort of stamp from the relevant embassy.
Has anyone gone through this process? One still has to do the Argentine flight test and pass some sort of written (I understand).
