Since noboby from the region has given you an answer I will tekk you wat I know. About 2 months ago I was teaching in Texas. A co workers former student worked for Tropic Air and he spoke to him a few times about getting work their. It seems that Tropic could not get work permits for outside crew.Sounded like a pretty cool place to live, also there are no instrument approaches in all of belize. A few weeks ago a massive Hurricane hit the and I think a few aircraft were destroyed. Thats all I got, Goodluck

Re working in the Caribbean
I am a new zealand pilot...ATPL...around 6,000 hours....mostly multi turbo prop, looking for a change.
any ideas on good companies to approach, and what the aviation scene there is like?
your answers would be most appreciated.

Go into www.yahoo.com and search for "Caribbean Airlines". It gives a few puddle jumpers that sometime hire ex-pats. Also check in the Turks & Caicos-- pilots there although they don't pay much supposedly (it's expensive too). Check in the Aviator Select Canada forum under Air Crew Job Seekers-- a very recent thread there about jobs in the Carib. www.aviatorselect.com
