Question VARIGLOG

Can anyone say what will be the situation of the cargo branch from VARIG as it will become VARIGLOG(istica). Will the situation for the crews still be the same? Or will they become employees from the cargo company and not anymore from VARIG? (then with the factor of reducing the salaries?)

Nothing has been decided yet. The cargo manager wants to start a new branch including a new pilot contract for everyone. Varig's pilots association disagreed, of course, and they(pilots)will stop working if any disagreement with management persists. In my opinion they are trying to distract the group because there'll be a pilot/flight attendant salary and working conditions negotiation in December. The manager thinks that B727 pilot's salaries are very high (Captains less than US$5000, F/O US$2500, before taxes and any discount).

Thumbs down

Thanks for the help Contrails!
I had a friend in Brazil that was scheduled to start the 727 course , but it was canceled last minute. I think this may have something to do whit it. He now seems to be headed for the 737 course in November.
This can be move to find people willing to work for less or a sign of the troubles ahead...anyway , if VARIG now start to lower their standards it will not be much of a hope for the already unfair Brazlilian market.
