Post Work in South/Central America

Does anybody out there know anything about the job prospects of a pilot with very minimum hours in South/Central America?
I've just got CPL and MECIR in Australia, with 250 hours, and seeking for an opportunity out there. How is the licence conversion and obtaining a work permit? I speak very basic Spanish, and fluent in Eng and Japanese. Can anyone point me into some direction?

Sadly, Belize is the only country where you can get a job with an "indiginous" company. Tropic Air and Maya Island Air are the two companies to look at. K&K Aircraft, a U.S. company, does hire foreign pilots (U.S. and others) for their government contract work in Mexico, Panama and Jamaica.

Cool

Hey all,
Another Aussie here. Very interested in working in South America. Have looked at the sites mentioned above. My partner has been in Costa Rica and South America for the past 3 months. Both looking at going back there. I have about 700TT, time on PA 31-350, BN2A, PA 34, and CESSNA 400 series. Any advice?? any info would be most appreciated..
thanks
