Airline pilot salaries in Latin America
I write this out of curiosity, not that I am pursuing a job south of the border but since some airline pilots in the USA have complained about reduced wages and benefits I was wondering what the salaries are for pilots in LAN, COPA, TACA or any of the Latin American carriers. Wondering also what are their starting wages and how much a senior captain makes at any of those places.
Thank you!
Thank you!

around 3500$ for F/O
slightly under 5000$ for Cap
After tax
We are dreaming about US "reduced wages"

Same for TAM, no difference between juniors and seniors nor is there a difference in widebodies.
$3000 a320 F/O
$5000 widebody F/O
$7000 a320 capt.
$10000 widebody capt.
All figures before taxes and USD.
Talk about low wages. And you even get to pay $35000 USD for a Honda Civic. Amazing.......

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the TAM figures from? A friend of mine is a senior captain on 777s and he would love to make that much. According to my contacts there you are high by about 20% across the board, FOs starting at around US$2000 up to US$8000 for senior widebody captains. TAM certainly have the best salaries in Brazil (except for the top executive pilots), but you need to get a long way up the food chain before you get good money.
GOL start at about the same level and go up to around US$5000 for senior captains, AZUL are paying about 10% less than that, but you get to live at home, so some are happy to make the trade-off.

Alemaobaiano,
Your numbers are right for after taxes figures. Are you talking about after or before taxes? My numbers are before taxes and I got them from flying the line.

I appreciate all of your responses!! I posted the same question, but specifically about TACA pilots, in an Spanish language aviation forum(the moderator removed the post from the message board, touchy subject perhaps??). I did a search in this forum and found out that TACA pilots make about $2,500/mo. for FO and $4,000/mo. for Capt. Is that still true?

Very interesting and informative thread,
Alemaobaiano and FlyingOW could you pls tell how much is the tax figure (% of the salary) in Brasil and Peru?
Varigflier, do you know what is the starting income for an FO in the regional airlines in Brasil (Trip, Passaredo, Airminas etc) flying turboprops?
Thanks.

AVA Colombia
FO F50/F100 USD$2,000 per month average, (base salary + per diem, etc)
There is no big increase between equipment, biggest difference is flying Int'l (USD per diem).
