Has LAN gotten to the stage that they are now recruiting expats, in other words, negating the limitation that one must be a national of the country concerned or have some sort of other significant tie such as permanent residency?

No problems in Chile we have open policy for immigrants. At this moment LAN is requesting Pilots, I think they can provide a contract would be not a problem since the candidate meets the requirements.

Did something change in Mexico?

For the longest time you needed to be a Natural Mexican to fly commercially there, just wondering if something changed and why.

The requirements ....

Yes ,you "only" need to meet the requirements.... , you have to convalidate your licence..... ,guess which is the first requirement to convalidate , have a work permit ,and guess which is the first requirement LAN´s asks you to even be a suitable candidate have your licence expedite by chile Civil aviation authority, and they dont give, facilitate or issue a work permit ....

Hello Axel,
i am fascinated with Chile. So it was with great interest that i read your post.
I tried the link you provided, but i could not find any job postings there.
Have you got any other venue of acquiring information about jobs at LAN Chile ?
Thank you and best regards.
