They haven't yet merged. Currently, Carib Star's aircraft and personnel are wetleased to Liat. With the amount of politics going on the full merger is not likely to happen until June at the earliest.... and that's if it goes through at all.
Carib Star's flights are operating under the LIAT call signs etc but it is not yet one company.

In the news yesterday/today: LIAT is buying out Caribbean Star. The deal is quite fascinating. The owner of Carib Star/Sun is lending the 3 governments (who are shareholders in LIAT) the money to buy out his airline. He will maintain 30% shares in the new company - "LIAT, the Star of the Caribbean" while the govts hold 65%. The remaining 5% is supposed to go to the staff.
Seems like the mouse swallowed the elephant - hope he doesn't get indigestion.

and now...?

So what has happened with these comapnies?

Caribbean Sun was supposed to be in Miami at the Aeroservice jobfair this past weekend and they didnt show. I was told that they had begun operations again and were looking for crews?

And as far as Star and LIAT? what gives....?

Any info on the stability and hiring if any?

Caribbean Sun ceased their operations a couple months ago. That probably explains why they were absent at the fair. Concerning Star and LIAT, things still aren't settled as far as I know. Only the man above knows when they will be, if at all...

I know that Caribbean Sun ceased ops in January. However, they were advertised on Aeroservice's website as one of the companies attending. I even called to confirm they would be there, on the friday before the fair, and were told that they had started ops again. Then Saturday, no show....

did somebody BS just for more people to attend, or what? ... i think its very suspicious

does anybody have any info re the company?

The airline was apparently sold to a spanish investor a couple months ago and are supposed to be flying passengers between FLL and the Keys on N803WP....that's what i heard.

As for LIAT-Star of the Caribbean, they are hiring pilots and cabin crew as of now.
