Jobs in Canada

Australian pilots looking for adventure should
seriously consider Canada. Most Australians under age 30 pilots
are eligible for a visa that is literally available for the asking
as are Canadians under 30 wishing to work in Australia.

If you are an older than that then there is another process that takes
around three months being a labour market assessment, local advertizing
that then justifies a $1000 fee for a LMA that enables the hire of a foreign pilot.

I processed one of these last year and then processed a Foreign Licence
Validation, that's right, he did not even need a Canadian CPL to fly in
Canada.

Now, while you can get that second permit easily (at $1000 cost to the employer) it is better to do the written exam and a flight test, and end up with a real Canadian licence.

If you are in the IFR world then after you do the written, your employer will do an IFR PPC, which in many cases, is required anyway.

If you are looking for adventure, then go get a float rating and within a year or so, you will be in a very high demand category.

I'll repost an advert here that was just posted by McMurray Aviation in Fort McMurray

Now, from my reading of these adverts below, they all contain every essential mandatory item required by a Labour Market Assessment that MUST be advertised in order to have an LMA issued which means the company is good to get the pilot a Foreign Licence Validation if of course he or she does not decide to write the written and do a flight test / ppc for a TC licence.

So, here are two of their current advertised positions, zero time or 100 hour flight instructor, and a Caravan Pilot with a minimum hours of 1500 hours.
You can check their web site under careers to see that they are also seeking other staff for flight operations.

My tip to any really low time pilots is to consider taking the ramp positions which generally lead to a flight position and that movement is going on at an astronomically fast rate.

In other companies, I'm seeing rampies going FO in as little as three months when in the past, it could have been a year or more, and going back 20 years ago, you could have remained a rampie for two years.
