Um, the subject says it all, really.

Anyone able to help? Rotary, or fixed wing with skis...

Actually the header says 200 miles east of Nord......
So where is Nord...
1 tonne of lead? Bird feathers? That kinda makes a difference too.

I've contacted Kenn Borek, but have heard in the meantime that they're no longer doing the north atlantic.

Nord is on the north east tip of Greenland.

It's a mix of gear, about 2 pallets.

Fly safe, Sam.

Hmmm, if Borek declined, it's going to be a bit more challenging. I'll contact my arctic underground, and PM you later....

Station Nord is a military base on the north tip of Greenland. It is farther north than Resolute. For some reason it doesn't appear on maps. It is a gravel runway and the Danes do a refuel supply there like Canada does with Alert.

I only got there once briefly. The only thing that really sticks out in my mind about the place was the massive number of porn magazines in the washroom which being part of the EU was not a flush toilet but into a container to be perhaps sent south.

Gravel runway only and apparently they get lots of fog like Resolute as well in the summer but no ILS if I remember correctly.

Anyways, have you thought about Greenlandair. They have Twin Otters.

Personally, I'd drop a quick email to the guys at Arctic Command at Nuuk.

They've got overall operational responsibility for Nord, as well as a stack of other stuff in that neck of the woods, so should be able to point you in a useful direction.

Hi, Nord is much further north - the only base even higher is Alert...

Thanks for all the tips, still bashing away at this - not proving easy.

Cheers, Sam.

Try ALCI

ALCI | Associates

I haven't spoken with them in a number of years, so I'm not sure how active they are in the arctic, but I know they have done this work in the past.

Sam
Try giving the Enviroment Canada weather station in Eureka a call. They have cargo flights on regular basis. Might be able to fix you up. I was through there last year en route Alert. If not PM me and Ill give you our company contacts, we might have rotary wing heading up Baffin next few weeks. Might be able to do something.

Newfie.

Does it have to be now? Wait a handfull of months and call Air Iceland (formerly Flugfélag Nordurlands) in Akureyri. They do lots of work on the east and north Greenland coast.

Yes Borek stopped doing North Pole expeditions if that is what you are planning to do. Stopped besides scientific ones I believe.

Probably liability issues.
Or tired sending rescue party

You could contact Air Tindi, they may be interested in something like that.
