RCAF for foreigners?
Hi guys,
does any of you know if it would be possible for a foreigner (EU citizen) to join Royal Canadian Air Force without having Canadian nationality?

There are in most Comonwealth and NATO forces slots for exchange aircrew to serve , {during my miss-spent youth I did in fact do such a tour} also in the past some of my age group did transfer to other Air Forces, but they were already experienced military aircrew. One of my close friends even got himself shot down during such service, after a short camping holiday he made it back in one piece however, Outside of this I think you are SOL.

Don't be so sure. Mr. Hudicourt produced a document on avcanada several months ago that listed every LMO applied for, in 2013 I believe, and there were many for the RCAF.

I can see there are some sort of exchange programs between Canada and a few European countries.. but what if someone isn't a military pilot (but has some flying experience) and simply wants to emigrate and train in Canada? Would it be possible to send an application and wait for their respond while preparing all of the documents required for visa, permanent resident card etc. (in parallel). Or you firstly need to reach one level to start thinking about another one?

Yeah you could do that,
I applied to be the Space Station commander, but I'm not holding my breath and neither should you.
Unless your a citizen or an already trained military pilot from a commonwealth country you are not going to be an officer in the Canadian Forces.
Canadian isn't some third world backwater that can't find or train enough of its citizens.
They articles suggest that if you are a British fighter pilot with over 10 years experience you may be in luck.

The answer is no. You cannot apply without having the right to do so which comes with Canadian citizenship. We have been accepting RAF, German and some Hungarian aircrew who have been serving with NFTC but that is a different ball game as they are serving officers and qualified pilots, thus our training costs are extremely low. However, that opening is coming to a halt very soon I believe as will be the number of Canadian students being trained.

Several pilots and instructors have been hired by CAF through the TFW program. CAF applications for the TFW program are floating around online. CF18, CC-150, CC-140 were mentioned in documents I saw
