Gazette Part II - 12 February 2014

The following link will send you to the latest issue of the Canada Gazette, Part II for Transport Canada (Air):

Canada Gazette – Regulations Amending the Canadian Aviation Regulations (Part IV)

These have been in the pipeline for quite some time, but in short, the highlights are:

1. Student Pilots enrolled into integrated courses are able to fly PIC during both day and night VFR;
2. Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) will be a valid license;
3. Co-Pilots will be able to apply hours 1 for 1 towards the issue of a higher license or rating (Goodbye 50% rule); and
4. Medical expiry dates have been extended. For those of us with ATPL's and CPL's, our medicals are good for 12 months until we turn 60 unless we fly single-pilot IFR. All others have been bumped up.

Let me point out that these are not valid until 60 days after the publication date.
