Sky Regional are an even lower cost affiliate of Air Canada than Jazz. Originally operating a small fleet of Q400s between Toronto Island and Montreal Dorval, they have expanded with the transfer of all of AC's fleet of 15 Embraer 175s and now operate many services transborder to Newark, Dallas, etc.

"Maple", as they call themselves on the radio, is just another part of the "race to the bottom", in many cases crewed by retirees from other airlines who when working for their previous outfits recieved decent wages, however as a fair percentage of these pilots have severall ex -wives to suport , along with other burdens they now choose to be part of this very same "race to the bottom" Just compare a TTC bus drivers wages with those paid by Sky Regional, oh, lets not forgest the other Q400 outfit based at CYTZ, they deserve each other!

Clunk,
Totally agree!
The same guys who "stood in solidarity" against the erosion of terms and conditions at their former carriers, those who had the "good years" and did little to protect and maintain those conditions for the next generation immediately turn and unceremoniously steal the candy from the babies. It has been a disease, sickness and embarrassment in Canadian aviation for decades and the worst part is that it is that generation of the industry that should have known better but have chosen to sacrifice the incumbents for their own greed....shame on you all. At 65 years of age, you should be on your boat in the Caribbean, not going to Chicago.

Actually to be fair you can make more driving a bus for the TTC and the training is cheaper.
Have no mis-conceptions about Canadian aviation....there is more money in the trades and it is more stable.....you can thank the "Jazz Generation" for that.
