Wink Want to be a pilot ..looking at colleges opinions?

Hey
So I'm going into my last year of high school, been researching as much as I can about aviation and want to be a pilot. Which college/uni would you suggest getting into in Bc ? The 3 that I was looking at were bcit, coastal pacific (uni of the fraser valley) and the one in the okanagan. what program would increase my chances of getting a job in the flying industry? The diploma at bcit sounds kinda lame but idk if airlines would favour a business diploma than an airline operations diploma? Or just the same

Thanks!

The airlines aren't going to care what your diploma was in. All they're going to care about is your flying experience. By the time you reach airline age, you'll probably be in your early 30s... do you really think they're going to care what you read in a book when you were 19?

Diplomas/degrees are only of value for perhaps a networking advantage and when the computer in the HR department starts filtering who will be called to interviews (that is, assuming their "computer" is even using post secondary education as a filter).

diplomas/degrees

Nobody really cares about education until you apply to a major airline. Your just another low time pilot Airlines will take someone who has thousands of hours of experience on type and lots of turbine time before they would take a 200 pilot with a diploma, your better off spending the money on an instructor course.

look up "Cockpit conversations" on Blogger(google it)
A Canadian Aviatrix who has blogged her entire carreer to date....maybe you'll get a more realistic view after reading her archived posts. a damned good, entertaining story...allow a week of evenings or a couple of full days!
