CPL IR Revalidation

Hi guys looking for some help with the revalidation of my TC CPL.

Too cut a long story short i am converting my TC CPL to a JAR frozen ATPL, i have finished the exams and am about to start the flying time. Obviously i am trying to keep the cost of this down and as such am trying to keep the conversion option open rather than having to take the full course.

My questions are these, my CPL was issued on the 29th of Jul and is valid for ?5 years?

How to Stay Current - Transport Canada

the IR is valid until Dec 2010 if i do the 5 take offs and landings before December does this mean i am revalidated for another 6 months or do i have to do a flight test?
I realize this is probably a pretty basic question but in the last few years i have done FAA, TC and now JAA so the swirl of regulations and loopholes has fried my brain a little.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Cheers
