FAA conversion question (again!)

Hi guys,

I'm a high time helicopter pilot (5000hr +) with a bare CPL (A) ME/IFR. Can I convert to the FAA equivalent without having 250hrs? OR is that just flight time in anything from a glider to a Huey...

c.Must hold a TCCA Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane Single Engine Land or Aeroplane Multi-engine Land, as appropriate for the rating sought and have logged a minimum of 250 hours flight time as a pilot.

What do you guys think/understand or know to be fact?

Thanks!

Conversion

Hi Chairman

I believe that according to FAR's you need to meet the aeronautical experience requirements, meaning 250 hrs total time and the specific x-country time, etc...
Your Australian CPL will grant you a FAA PPL with ASEL rating, not sure about the AMEL. With this, provided you meet the aeronautical experience for the CPL, you can go directly for a checkride, knowing that you still need to be signed off by a CFI, meaning you will most likely have to do a few hours before getting that sign off.
Hope this helps.
