Hey everyone ,

I just wanted your suggestions...For my info I am an aircraft engineer for nepal working in Nepal . . I am working here for lot then and my interest has always been pilot.
My son just finished his class x with good results.

Can you suggest me where should he further proceed because he wants to be a great pilot. He has a great passion and stuides a lot.

Canada is a great palace for aviation. My son wants to get enrrolled in flying schools

I mean is it necesarry that he has to do class 11 and 12 or are there direct flying schools where i could send him for his studies like aviation college and stuff. I want to send him canada for his further stuides ... I hope there exists such places for aviation after 10 .. Here, in nepla there is no chaance of good stuides,,any suggestions would be highly appreciated . . This would help me a lot as well as my son.

Shrant,

You are helping to make pprune a truly diverse & international site

How old is your son? This may not help with his plans for coming to Canada, but perhaps, if he has access to the internet too, he could have a look on
EAA Young Eagles
which is part of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA - The Spirit of Aviation - Oshkosh, WI).

I am sure you will get some really helpful answers on here with regards to flight schools, but if not, I have contacts in Canada that may be able to help.

Another website, if you or he have time to explore, Welcome to Vintage Wings of Canada

Good luck with your search

It's a bit more complicated than just finding a flying school or suitable program for your son...

Firstly, he'd have to finish the equivalent of high school - that means Grade 12 in the Canadian system. You could consult the Canadian Embassy or Consulate in your area for more information.

He'd also have to gain the ability to reside in Canada in order to attend whatever course you may feel is right for him. Again, see the helpful staff at the nearest Canadian Embassy or Consulate.

I'm familiar with two schools in Western Canada:
www.mtroyal.ca
www.selkirk.ca

You may also wish to ask the same question you've asked on this forum in New Zealand or Australia, both of which are slightly closer to Nepal... they have excellent schools there as well. So does the UK (more expensive due to currency exchange) and consider South Africa and the USA as well.

Good luck.

My suggestion is to get a JAA (european license).
JAA does NOT mean a better school, don't get me wrong but passing from a canadian or FAA license to an JAA is really HARD and expensive. Vice versa it seem easier. There are schools in USA that are allowed to give european license and, if i recall, a couple in Canada too...
Having both license give also double chances to find a job and i am aware of companies around the world that require a JAA ticket even if they are not based in europe...
Ciao
