Canadian IFR Rating
Hi there,
Can anyone tell me what a Canadian IFR Check ride consists of? I am in the process of obtaining my Canadian ATPL and need to do an Instrument flight check with a TC Examiner.
Can this be done in a Simulator or must it be done in a light twin engined aircraft? If it can be done in the sim (B737/A320), do they allow the use of automatics or is it all done manually using basic raw data? I am rated in the above mentioned aircraft types.
Thanks in advance.

Sim is ok and it's your ride so automatics are the way to go. The examiner MIGHT ask that you hand fly an ILS from the outer marker or something mundane.
Expect a precision approach, non-precison, V1 cut, a hold, and an abnormal such as a failed generator or the like. One of your landings will be engine out.
Have fun.
