Operating into Vancouver and then................?
Pretty much as it says really guys. I'm operating into YVR and then got quite a few days off in beautiful BC. I want to do the usual touristy stuff in town and up in the mountains but because I've never done it before, I really want to fly in a floatplane. Now I know I can go to Coal Harbour (?) downtown, across from The Grill or even over to the Flying Beaver and grab a flight as a pax but my question to you guys, is, is it possible to go somewhere and get a bit of stick time to see what this seaplane stuff is all about ( a very limited insight I grant you)!! I've seen Cessna's on floats along with radial and turbine Beavers around the Flying Beaver before but as these are all engaged in commercial ops I reckon I need to travel further afield to realise my cunning plan. Where will I have to travel to in order to do this and what sort of ballpark hourly rate can I expect (type dependent I appreciate). Lastly, how long will it take for the silly grin to leave my face afterwards?

Fort Langley Air Float Training
If you are an Airbus or autopilot on at 1000ft. type you will first have to relearn basic flying skills.
Have fun and watch out for glassy water!
