Post Air Canada Medical

I would like to know if the visual requirements at Air Canada are much stricter than what is required for a class 1.

If my medical were to be issued even though I only have 20/40 vision in my left eye, would this keep me from getting a job with AC as well as any of their regionals?

Any responses would be appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, AC only requires that you are able to maintain a Class I medical, ie. Vision corrected to 20/20. I believe it is a Human Rights/Labour code issue that would not allow them to ask for anything else.

Quite a few of my friends at AC wear glasses!

Cheers, OffshoreIgor

Air Canada also does drug testing on all new employees. I assume that applies to pilots as well.

As far as I know, AC's medical can not be stricter than TC's. As long as you have a Class 1, I think you are ok. Try post that question at www.aeforum.com That's where the AC, CP, WJ, C3 people congregate.
