Don't have any firsthand knowledge but all the staffers I've encountered seemed pretty happy. Mostly B757, A320 & A330, with some B737s from the carriers they just took over. For contact info try their web page at http://www.canada3000.ca

FullRVS,I think they're, like all the other employers at the moment are looking at 3000hrs or so.The present applicants are so qualified, but eventually this hourly req' will vary..The pay scales are average charter Co',but C3 is in negotiations preparation at the moment.

C3 salaries average??? I do not think so. 42,000 Can. gross for the first year! Seems slightly under paid if you ask me! Oh yes, Captain start salary is only......58,000 if I remember correctly. But as they say, they are in talks right now to come closer to the industry standards. If they manage to get a reasonable increase, you will find that many of us expats would go and fly for them. In the mean time we make much more money abroad.
Good luck

Majors are looking for 3000hrs minimum with
lots of heavy twin time or jet time. There
are 50 applications for every seat that comes available at the majors. I retired 4 yrs ago
with a major 767-333ER left seat. 180K yr
F/0's make approx 60% of Captain.

Starting salary for a captain is currently $85,000 on any type, not $58,000. Contract is up for negotiations in November 2001 so hopefully should be higher!

Sorry for the inversion guys! What do you think C3 pilots will actually get? They were talking of BIG increases, in the order of 20 to 30%!!! Do you think they could get 10 to 15%? That would be a good start don't you think? Has anybody gotten news for course dates later this year?
regards

A large raise wouldn't surprise me- they're in the middle of a huge expansion (15 A/C to 50) and takeover, last thing they want now is ill will.

Hi 2dad!
Guess there is some mistake in your salary figures for C3! The Capt's salary is around $58K not the figure you mention.
Please re-check, Wish to God it was what you have quoted! We are talking Cdn$$-- Right?
Any other news? When are the new recruits scheduled to start their course?
Would appreciate any info.
Thanks.

I have c3 contract in front of me. Starting 1st year captain pay as of Nov 1/2000 is $85,000 Canadian.......this contract expires Oct 31/2000......

I am not sure where you get a $58,000 salary from but that pay is for a Level 3 year FO (approx 2 1/2 years from DOH)

100 pilots in the pool to be hired....hopefully.....the merger may hold things up or may not....who knows in this business

2dad:
I thank you , this will help me to open some poor guys mind and eyes!!
How about those who are recruited or to be this year as F/O (till they get command)?
Those who will have to join as F/O initially, due to the normal practice?
Those with over 17,000 hours in total and over 12,000 on jets?
Will appreciate if I can email you for further info.
Thanks again.

Question

Hi alapt:
Help me out ! You say one figure and yet 2dad has the contract in front of him? What am to think or say?
My queries are very genuine and not to pit one against the other.
Will appreciate your response.
Thanks

My figures are correct....believe me...

Company is unionized with ALPA and normal seniority rules. Therefore, as you would be aware, when hired, no matter how much time you have, you are bottom of list and start as F/O. If you are typed on any of C3's aircraft you would probably be assigned to that particular plane but not always so.

C3 may do more interviews come early summer. The last ones hired are being given courese dates this summer and selected according to experience for future command.

Cool

Can't sort out the pay until the negotiation ballet starts. Contract expires Oct 31/2001 and they are still have to straighten out all the merger seniority issues......interesting times
