Question Minimum Hours

I am completing my private pilot licence, and I have heard different stories regarding airline hiring practices. What hours do the Canadian airlines consider minimum for flying their jets? Or their Dash-8's for Air Ontario?

Cool

I believe you need around 4000 hours for the jets and around 2500-3000 for Air Ontario. Of course, the type of experience you have and how desperately they are (or are not) in need of warm bodies is also a factor. Good luck

Steepturn To get on with someone like Air Ontario, or any of the other commuters you generally will need to have at least 2,500 hrs. with about 1,000 hrs. multi p.i.c

For Bearskin Airlines out of T-Bay:
"Currently our minimum qualifications include: 1000 hours total time and 100 hours Multi Engine with a valid Multi-IFR."

The best way to find out, is to e-mail the human resources dept's, and ask them what they require. Some airline links for you:

www.airontario.ca
www.airnova.ca

Hope this helps

Good luck and good flying
