Question Calgary flight schools

Wonder if anyone can help. I'm heading back to Canada after being overseas for a couple of years and need to renew my ATR. Suggestions and contacts for flight schools at Calagary I can contact to get things organised before I arrive back would be much appreciated.

Try aviatorselect.com. There is a directory there that you can check for addresses throughout Canada.

Why not go down to Okotoks rather than YYC?

If you need to renew your atr you will be able to find a couple of good flight schools in YYC. If you have to write the MOT test again I would suggest AeroCourse. They are at 1-800-461-8857 or fax 1-905-271-0345. I took them a couple of years ago and can only recommend them. However, stay away from Michael Colhane books for your preperations. Very overprized.
Good luck.

Never had problems with the Culhane books my self! For your info, the ATR never expires. If you are not current, (IFR) then you will have to re-write the instrument exams if your license has lapsed more than three years after the expiry date of your IFR. Remember that a "ride" is required every two years for the IFR to remain valid.

Expats flying overseas with another license (ex. FAA) that get "prof" checks are not required to return to Canada every two years to renew. Keep copies of the rides and send other copies to TC. they will keep your file active. When and if you decide to return to Canada, only a Flight Test will be required to reinstate your IFR.
Keep the blue side up!
