Question Training to become a commerical airline pilot in Canada...

Can anyone answer this question for me...

How do you train to become airline pilots in Canada? Do you have to pay for the training or is training paid for by airlines?

Two options comes to mind:

1: You can go to flying school and pay the 30,000-45,000 Cnd$ for it, the licences can be done in about a year or so.

2: Get into a program in a college ( in Chicoutimi, Québec) where all you have to pay for is the school fees. The programme last about 3 years depending on your back ground in college classes.

Unfortunatly we don't have programmes sponsered by the airlines.

I hope that answers you question.

Cheers
