Arrow DC-3 accident

Heard that somebody dropped a DC-3 freighter a couple of days ago in northern Sask. Does anybody know what happened?

On landing, on the iced lake surface the aircraft touched down too far beyond the threshould of the cleared landing strip (appr.2.600 ft.). When the pilots realised the long landing, a go-around was initiated. The DC-3 climbed in a very steep angle and seconds later, the left wing stalled, the aircraft nosed over and impacted on the frozen lake surface.

Here is a link to a technical report on CASN:

CD: Another DC-3 gone, not to mention two good guys. Who was driving, or is that a no-no? Sounds like maybe a half assed white out situation, two over and lowered viz in light snow.

Sounds to me like another classic case of the load shifting Aft on the GO.
Real Shame!!!--not uncommon in that aircraft
