advanced float rating
hey everyone I am new to this site. Looks like a good place to find a lot of well informed people. So here's my question, I am just finishing my cpl I have got my ME IFR, and my float endorsment, i am thinking about looking for a float job next season in Manitoba or Ontario (I live in B.C). I am a 22yr old in good physical shape, so do I have a chance whithout an advanced float rating? thanks in advance for any opinions.

My float instructor gave me these instructions to get that first job on floats: go somewhere north and nasty, then when you find an operator who says, "nah, we don't need anyone, all the guys from last year are coming back" you hang around, because they've got a season's worth of experience and they can get a job somewhere nicer, so they won't all be back. So when the operator realizes he needs a pilot, there you are.
