Question Float jobs

Greetings, how's it going?
First of all I would like to say that I am new to this site and like what I have seen so far. I have read alot of your posts and found them to be very informative. Thanks.
I am just finishing my flight training at Shearwater, Nova Scotia, all that remains is the MIFR flight test. I did the float rating last fall and fell in love with it. In the short 7 hours it took for the rating, I became hooked on float flying. I have talked to a number of people online who have said that I'd never get anything on floats with only 7 hours, especially with only 7 hours on a C170. My question is, how does one get that first float job?
I plan to do a road trip from Winnipeg to Thunderbay early in the spring and walk my resume in and hopefully make some contacs. Do any of you have any suggestions or do's and dont's to pass along? What type of operators are best to avoid? Is it better to try hunting/fishing outfitters or freight/charter companies?
I expect to pay my dues on the dock first but how long is that usually? Is a TC Dispatch license an asset?
Any advise you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Wink

Best bet is to get more float hours, Fishing and Hunting Outfitters would be the one's to talk to. Dress casually-and speak to people that way too-bush flying is very much a can do type of operation. Nobody wants a big attitude or to hear all you know about Regs.

Dispatch licence no help. If you work the dock, expect to be there all summer with an A/C checkout at the end and a flying job the following year.

Good Luck
