Info on living in the US - flying in Canada

I am considering moving to the US and commuting back to my airline job in Canada. Would appreciate any info regarding the move, what US customs requires, how long one is allowed to reside in the US etc.

I am a Canadian citizen and am not considering becoming an American.

Thanks
