Skyservice announces it has been chosen by Vacances Maestro, the Québec city tour operator, to be its exclusive air provider

TORONTO, Sept. 13 /CNW/ - Skyservice Airlines is pleased to announce that
it has agreed to a long term agreement with tour operator Vacances Maestro
based in Québec City. Skyservice will be the exclusive air provider for
Vacances Maestro using dedicated and co-branded modern Boeing 757-200ER. The
first aircraft will be introduced into service this December, operating
initially to mostly unserved southern destinations. A second aircraft is
planned to commence operating in the spring of 2007 to serve Vacances Maestro
flight programs to and from several European destinations.
Supporting the air operations of Vacances Maestro, Skyservice will open a
permanent base in Québec City where it will employ Pilots, Mechanics, Flight
Attendants and Airport Staff. The B757-200ER provides excellent passenger
comfort and economics not only for the southern destinations but provides
Vacances Maestro with the capability to operate from Québec City direct
Trans-Atlantic flights to Paris, Nice and London.
Flights will feature 215 leather seats, Skyservice's renowned in-flight
service, including hot meals and in-flight entertainment designed for the
Québec City and Eastern Province of Québec markets.
CEO of Skyservice, Russell Payson, a native of Sillery, Quebec stated,
"Over the years Skyservice Airlines has demonstrated its ability to serve the
local and regional communities with direct jet service to Sun Destinations
throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. The start of this service from the
Jean-Lesage International Airport gives Vacances Maestro the ability to
fulfill its mission of being "the wings of Québec" and provide convenient
service on a year round basis to Sun and European Destinations.
The start of air operations in Québec City provides Maestro and its
travel partners with increased opportunities, and strengthens Canada's overall
international air presence," said Robert Giguere, President and COO of
Skyservice. "We have numerous years flying charter flights to a number of Sun
and International destinations and we look forward to quickly establishing
departures from the Québec City International airport as a primary choice for
travelers of the Eastern regions of the Province of Québec."
Giguere emphasized that this new service and base of operations, the
first from the Québec City airport for Skyservice, will be focused on the
Québec City market.
In addition to the employees of Vacances Maestro, Skyservice will be
creating over 60 direct jobs which will be based in Québec City. Additionally
the new crew members for the Québec City base will be trained in Québec City
at a local training facility.
Payson stated with obvious delight, "I am very pleased with our Vacances
Maestro partnership and equally pleased to be opening a Skyservice base in
Québec City."

Skyservice Airlines carries over one million passengers annually and
currently operates a fleet of 24 aircraft including Airbus A-319's, A-320's,
A-330's and Boeing B-757's to popular vacation destinations in Canada, the
United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. Skyservice Airlines is a
division of Skyservice, a company founded in Quebec in 1986 by Russell Payson
and two other partners.

Skyservice ops

Not that it maters much but I am almost sure they operate B-767's also do they not? I would be surprised if they open a crew base in Quebec as I beleave they have only had the one in T/O for there intire existance. Again I could be wrong on that too.
Cheers

Sky operates 320, 319, 757, and A330 they did operate a 767 last summer but it went back to My Travel. Yes they will be opening a base in YQB along with their exsisting permanent bases YYZ and YYC. Could be wrong though. But this is how i understand it.

Just wondering what a/c type is based in YYC Airbus or Boeing. I have been thinking of try to get on with them and wasn't awear of a base there. I like the west as it's close to the mountains.
