Captain Ian Gordon Clarke - 1955- 2006

I have just received word from a colleague that Captain Gord Clarke has lost his struggle with Cancer and has passed away.

For those who knew him from his C3/Skyservice/Zoom days ( and the days prior to), he will be sadly missed.

A very sad day in aviation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I have never met such a great individual who could put a smile on your face even when times were tough. For anyone wishing to send an online condolence to his family you can at the link below. This just makes me want to jam someones flight controls just like he would have done.

A unique gentlemen who's professionalism and wit will always be remembered. Rest in Peace, Captain Gord.

CLARKE, Captain Ian "Gordon"

On April 13th, as the sun was starting to rise, Captain Ian Gordon Clarke took his last flight on earth. After a brief and brave battle with cancer, Gord peacefully passed away with his wife by his side.

Forever adored husband of Lisa (Jahn). He will be sadly missed by his son Graeme, daughter Kirsty and their mother Judith. Much loved Pappa to Adam and MacKenzie. He is also survived by his mother Barbara, brother Bruce (Laura), nephew Scott and niece Kyla. Predeceased by his father Ian Malcolm Clarke.

Cremation has taken place. Gord's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, April 19th from 9:30am to 11am. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:30am where his family encourages visitors to share memories and stories of their time with Gord.

Notes of condolence can be posted on the funeral home's website.
