BC paramedic's calmness lands plane

According to Larry Jackson, Manager of the BC Air Ambulance service......... From CTV news:

A British Columbia Air Ambulance was forced to make an emergency landing Saturday when its front landing gear suddenly stopped working.

The Beech King-Air 200 plane took off from Vancouver's International Airport at approximately 1 p.m. PST to go pick up a patient in Prince George, B.C. The plane had two pilots and two paramedics on board.

But shortly after taking off, the pilots discovered a problem with the plane's front landing gear.

They circled the airport to burn off fuel before landing at the airport at 2:30 p.m.

The plane's engines were shut off as it approached the runway. The pilots were able to land the plane on its rear wheels before bringing the front landing gear down.

The plane skidded to a stop after the landing gear collapsed upon impact.

No one was injured in the incident.

"It was a serious incident," said Larry Jackson, manager of BC Air Ambulance. "Thanks to the great skills and calmness of the paramedics they made a gentle and successful landing."

The reason for the landing gear's failure is unknown. But the damage to the plane was minimal.

I figured that is what it was. And, good work on CTV's part for correcting it.
