I Got The Call
Some questions regarding the onset of new hires at AC.
Do you have to be based in YYZ as an initial hire?
Is movement looking swift to obtain an A320 position within 5yrs?
Is the reduced $37k initial starting salary a fact?
How much are per diems?
Have they begun setting up dates for interviews/medicals for the month of Oct?
Does AC compensate for any moving expenses?
Thanking you in advance for your info.

"Do you have to be based in YYZ as an initial hire?"
Most likely YYZ or YUL as many already working at AC want back to YVR or YWG and they will get to go first
'Is movement looking swift to obtain an A320 position within 5yrs?"
No
"Is the reduced $37k initial starting salary a fact?"
I think so but not sure
"How much are per diems?"
depends on where you are in Canada about $68 per day
"Have they begun setting up dates for interviews/medicals for the month of Oct?"
No idea
"Does AC compensate for any moving expenses?"
Not for a new hire
"Thanking you in advance for your info."

Flaps Up:
Good luck - good to hear you "got the call". From what I understand the ACA guys doing the interviewing are great guys.
For any of those out there "in the know" .....
There are about 5 of my colleagues hanging out here who have had the interview/mecial/cog test and are waiting for the actual, final job offer from ACA ..... does anybody know how long it takes to get the "offer"?

Just looked it up,
the initial strating salary is year1: 43,000$
Year 2: 49,000$
Year 3:hourly salary that comes out to about 63,000$ if still on the Embraer or RP
If on year 3 and on the A320 it is around 82 $ per hour at 82 hours per month=80,000$ wich goes up to 100,000$ year 5

Bobrun, got the new hire pay figures at
airlinepilotpay.com, wich seemed pretty accurate when I look at the figures in my contract ( wich doesn't include the new hire pay) and the ones on the website.
Of course if they told you 37,200$ at the interview then I stand corrected.
By the way did you choose CX or AC?

Thanks everyone for the responses thus far.
I am aware of the pay numbers at www.airlinepilotpay.com but am hearing these new numbers floating around forums and rumours.
Just curious, what is CX?

Good decision Bob.....
Those rates on airlinerates are totally updated. The new hire rates are 37k and 2nd yr 42k off the street. The Jazz guys might get some extra for time spent there.....
CX is Cathay....
Oops, the rates on airlinerates are Not totally updated......
Sure wish AC would revisit the flat pay for two years. They aren\'t hiring 22 year olds anymore.
