WestJet Codeshare/Alliance

Would an alliance or at least a codeshare agreement with SouthWest or JetBlue....be feasible or would it make sense? Might it ever happen?

I see more an alliance even bigger with the Transat group, since they are doing a lot of flts under the tour ops Transat Holidays and World of Vacations.

Of course WS does fly out of smaller cities and can fill out their 737 compared to our widebodies ( A 310 and 330) .

But out of TS main gateway : YVR-YYZ-YUL the group still uses them to operate some flts.

I guess it is because TS doesn't have enough aircrafts ( 14 ) compared to 21 ( back in 2001). So since Transat group still need to bring pax down south, WS is still the cheapest avail. option to take care of the clientele.

Lately they had applied for ETOPS certification to Hawai'i so it wouldn't surprise me if they start routes like YOW-LGW or YHZ-LGW... It's just a guess but it wouldn't surprise me to see a stronger alliance between Transat group and WS....

Just my 0.02 euros.
