Jumpseating in Canada

As we are now operating a weekly service from Gatwick to Deer Lake, what is the current situation regarding jumpseating on Canadian Airlines. I'm sure the rules about Cockpit are the same all over the world, but fancied trying to travel around Canada to catch up with some friends.

Hamrah,

To the best of my knowledge, jumpseating is non-existant in Canada since Sept 2001 unless you are an employee of that specific airline. Sorry mate.

There are agreements with some companies in Canada.
Space available in the back but not up front.

Curious

Hamrah;

I'm from that part of the world, Atlantic Canada, that is. I'm curious, what are you guys doing in Deer Lake, Ski Charters?
If so...that's good news. What type of machine are you using.
It's been a long time, but I remember YDF as 6000 ft.

Cheers...let it snow.

McDoo.

Gatwick to Deer Lake (YDF)? As McDoo says it's a 6000' rwy and not an overabundance of ramp space. Do you mean Stephenville (YJT) by chance? It has a 10,000' rwy.

Yes you're wrong...there are companies in Canada that have recipricol jumpseat agreements. Perversely, you cannot sit in the jumpseat, a pax seat must be available and used.
