Kenn Borek Air

Gday all,

I was wondering if anyone could please supply me with some specific info on KBAL, namely: are they looking for people at the moment, could an aussie have a long term career with them, are they flexible on the experience requirements for captains (I have 3100hours total, 1450 on the DHC6 with 850 of that pic), is it true that the pilots only work 6 months of the year and finally what is the pay like? I have already performed a search on pprune and would really appreciate any help.

Cheers

Here is the web site for them. I don't know anyone who flies for them but sounds like a decent place from what I have heard.

I know they are based out of Calgary

I got this on a search on Google. Have a look!

Saudpic-9,

Thanks very much, I have already checked the website out, was just after some specific info that I haven't been able to find anywhere to help decide wether I apply or not.

Cheers

Hi B.S.
I don't work for KBA but this is what I know ( not much ). Some of the KBA guys do rotations to the Arctic on something approximating month on month off. Some of their guys in the larger centres are full time. I believe they rotate out of the Maldives as well but the schedules were a little better for the left seat than the right.

Me thinks you would be golden with your otter time. The problem I see is getting the right to work in Canada. I guess if the company wants you bad enough anything is possible. Spose the only way to find out is to apply.

That being said work visas would be completely different in the Maldives I guess. Several of my friends met quite a few Aussies down there.

There must be some KBA guys out there to correct what I have said.

B. S.,

I don't much of anything about Borek, but perhaps these Canadian forums might get you in touch with someone who does.
