Cross Country definition

Dear Canucks,
I'm about to enbark on an instrument rating program in Canada and want to know if I have fulfilled all the requirements. I would like to know what the definition of a "crosscountry" flight is. 50 hrs XC PIC are require for IR issue. In the US these flights have to be more than 50nm long. Does this apply to Canada as well?
