Rotorpilot,

If possible, would you post the Globe and Mail web page/URL

Thanks

The Globe and Mail (Toronto) doesn't have the "Careers" section on line.
If you go to "Careers" in their website you will get the "Workopolis" job website and it takes time to get there.

.Globe and Mail

www.globeandmail.com

The "National Post" (Toronto) of the same day also run the very same ad.

National Post

I saw the the ads in the paper edition.

If I can get hold of the newspapers (must go to the Library because I no longer have those editions) I will post the pages and location of the add.

Obbie

I don't know the answer.
My guess is that their are hiring through a recruiting company based in Calgary

It must be a recruting company or the Headquarters of the owners.

Found other adds from Calgary to work elshere

Ex-military Pilot(s) Required for Combat Support Services

My guess is this is CanJet. Positioned with them the other week, and their crew were enquiring as to how we found the 757 as they would be getting one to do 'Carribbean routes'

Found the ad

Here you have a webpage with the above mentioned ad

Boeing 737 Pilots

Geez it doesn't accept hot links !!! I am going to try a way around it.

OK I think I got a way around it. Go to the page below, type pilots (plural) in the keyword, leave everything else as it is, and after this click in "SEARCH". You will find the ad in the list.

Well it may also be the new Canada 3000 which will use 757's this winter, couldn't it be???

http://www.flycanada3000.com/pr.html

Or the airline that never took off in 02/03, Canada West Air, they were to operate out of YEG/ YYC.

taken from yyznews.com

Canada West Airlines (CWA)....Gordon Andrews, Chairman and CEO of Canada West Airlines is pleased to announce that the final steps are being taken for the late fall launch of Canada West Airlines, with its operations, maintenance and head office based in Edmonton, Alberta. CWA will initially operate two premium-configured Boeing 757 aircraft with seats spaced to provide more comfort. The airline will offer full-service flights from Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver to European and sun destinations. "We chose to base our airline in Edmonton because this city is underserved internationally. We believe the public in this community deserves as much choice as other cities in Canada," he said. The company will market and distribute its products through its subsidiary, Canada West Holidays. Former Canada 3000 Holidays Vice-President, Richard Carlin will be heading the distribution and marketing side. With the launch of CWA approximately 185 jobs will be created in Western Canada, of which 125 will be flight crew and 60 in support and management positions.

-------------------------------

Then of what i read they were supposed to get together with Aerofalcon which were also supposed to start out of YYZ using 747's.

I went back to both webpages and none are working now :
http://www.canadawestair.ca

http://www.aerofalcon.ca

And this was the info from apr 04 :

Taken from yyznews.com :

aerofalcon Inc. ---the new proposed airline based in Mississauga plans to start flying some time this summer with three weekly flights to Southeast Asia. At a press conference held recently at the airline's headquarters aerofalcon Inc. President Dr. Bikram Lamba announced the fledgling airline company has merged with Vancouver-based carrier Canada West Airlines. With the added expertise and experience brought about by a consolidated senior management team, Lamba said aerofalcon Inc. is now in much better position to enter the competitive passenger airline business and succeed immediately. It is poised to lease its first 747 jet and hopes to start flying by July or the end of the summer. Gordon Andrews, former Canada West executive and current aerofalcon vice-president of corporate planning, acknowledged the airline business is highly competitive. "It's safe to say though, there's enough demand out there that there's definitely room for another carrier."

--------------------------------------------

I don't know about 6J if they will acquire 757's. i know that they upgraded for the 737-500 series and they will replace their 200's series.

Our Aircraft Fleet

I believe Kelowna Flightcraft are operating some 738's under the name Excel. They have some machines in Europe now. Perhaps this is all tied into them.

kelowna flightcraft is attempting to bring excel aircraft into canada and operate them with uk pilots. They have told their union members that they are too expensive to train.
The union refused to endorse the deal for obvious reasons and now the company is trying to start up a second company to get around the union. The address is an apartment owned by a partner of the the kfc president.
