Infos on Nunavuut

Hey to all,

Planning for a holiday adventure, I would like to find information on Taloyoak (CYYH), Kugaaruk (CYBB) and Rankin Inlet (CYRT), can I find fuel (100 LL for single-engine piston) there, do I have to order it, can I pay with cash? How is it in the Summer?? I am planning go to Resolute and Eureka too, and guess there's no fuel available up there, is it?

Thanks for your assistance,

Chris

Avgas should still be available in Rankin. Bring Tie-Downs as it is really windy there. All the time. Cambridge Bay still has drums, which you can pay for cash or visa. Spence or Pelly, you can try a few sources.
  • Airport operator from the CFS if they own the drums, (and I believe they do)
  • Air Nunavut- Jeff may have caches in the Kitikmeot
  • Willy's Bandits in Cambridge Bay- I forget their real name!
  • Kenn Borek Air in Resolute- They still have a '3

Just as an aside, be prepared for some really big numbers. Almost all activity out on the coast is turbine, so planed fuel goes out on the barge in the fall. New fuel goes out by air.

Thanks a lot Justcurious, you gave me some very valuable info there. I don't want to abuse, but when you talk of big numbers, do you remember around what $ amount it could be?
