Courses for direct entry S/O’s are running as we speak. All courses are filled until August 2004. At this stage recruitment will continue well into 2005/6 barring any major downturn in the industry.

Don’t know where you got the figure of 1500 interviews. I don’t think we really care how many we interview. When we fill the required quota the interviews will stop. I haven’t seen any figures yet as to how many we intend to employ over the next few years because the brass upstairs are still working on that as new aircraft orders are announced which will be very soon.

Yes it is a long time to wait. The reason for this is all slots are filled until August 2004. There is no need for us to complete the interview process until closer to the time the new recruits will be needed.

Yes I do work for CX. When the next round of aircraft orders are announced (which will be very soon), we will have a better idea of the requirement for new pilots. Until that is forthcoming from the company anything you have heard is only a guess and speculation. It may be close to the mark. It may be way off.
