I'd look out my window to confirm the wx here on the right coast, but its buried in snow at the 'mo.
A beautiful little nor'easter...eh.
I'd say halifax is the same as ch'town about now, winds have to be over 45 kts.
BPF: I think even 'ole Ace and the boys would be downing a few Moose in the this stuff.

Well, the vertical snow has slowed...but the horizontal stuff is just whizzin' by. Looks like I'm gonna have to throw the dog out the living-room window so's he can pee. 'Bout a 5ft drift in my front door. More than likely turning to freezing rain by morning. It's a wonderful day in the neighbourhood...
Just took a little piccie out the back. Literally couldn't even see out front, and I ain't interested in risking opening the door and having to shovel out my entryway.

Snow is relative.
We have six feet in our front yard and in the back the snow is up to or deck (4 feet) and the weather report says it will snow for the next three days. 28 clicks west of Montreal.
In 1976 I flew from the Netherlands to Mirabel. We were the first aircraft to land at Mirabel and the last to land at Mirabel for the next day or so. They had removed 14 inches of snow from the runway to allow us to land

Yep, got a lot of snow.
Skies are blue today and i cannot go flying.
My car is burried in the parking lot!!!!
Seen snow drift to the roof of some cars!!
Don't know if the vis on the east coast got above 1/4 sm yesterday??
I had the moncton ATIS, vis 0, vv 0, wind gusting 45kt, luckily enought all runway were closed.
What a mess this morning!!!
It 's gonna look pretty from the air.
Happy flying, on the east coast.

Nova Scotia got up to 90 cm of snow, apparently an all-time record for one storm. Meteorologically, these types of storms in the NW Atlantic (and elsewhere) are known as "bombs." The central pressure of the bomb must fall 24 millibars or more in a 24-hour period. I believe the central pressure for this storm dropped to around 965 millibars. A buoy 170 nautical miles east of Hyannis Massachusetts recorded a drop of o0ver 40 millibars in pressure in a 24 hour period as this storm intensified.

Here in the Hub (Truro,NS), picked up about 80cms. Normal plow dude couldn't even get to the drive. He's trying to dig out his own front-end loader to get his jobs done.

Only 50 metres to go! With the high winds, this stuff is really packed tight. Poor buggah has to use that small shovel, as he already broke the handle on the big one. Nice and toasty in the house though...

A couple of days ago,I was going to route myself YVR YYZ YHZ YYT LHR until a change in plans occured. Good thing too.
Was in YHZ last Feb. Landed in a blizzard and had to overnight. Driver of bus from airport almost had to be talked into doing the run into Dartmouth. Hairy run it was. One lane of a three lane highway barely passable. Very pretty from the hotel window. That trip - LHR YYT YHZ YOW YYZ YVR was 48.5 hours - door to door.

More weather
During a trip last month we were planning to go into Odessa ( Ukraine), until we saw the weather. It was 020/36 gusting 52 with the vis. down to 300m and the sky obscured in heavy blowing snow and a temp. of minus 19 and the TAF forecasting no let up in the vis. but a change to freezing rain. Needless to say plan B was activated!
