missleadfoot was correct - interviews will be held in capital cities. Friends of mine have group interviews in Brisbane in Late November.

sofresh 11th November 2003 18:59

is there anyone who received an invitation from AO already?

Ranjha 12th November 2003 14:00

Sofresh I got an interview in 2 weeks time with AO..

Good tips anyone for group interviews:=

ShesGreatintheGalley 12th November 2003 14:19

from what i have heard (and experienced re airline group interviews) you go in, get a name tag and get seated at a table/in a group where there are a few of you and an interviewer. You hear a company prep talk, get to ask any questions and get asked a few general q's (ie name of ceo, destinations they fly too) anyone can answer but its good if you can answer one or two as it shows you have researched the company.
then you generally do a group activity... something involving teamwork where the interviewers can see how you react with others in a team or time limiting environment.

airlines each have their own variations of group interviews, some make you dance and sing some make you talk on a topic of their choice for 5 minutes, some you have to answer some essay questions. it all depends. good luck everyone!

Goodluck to all who has an interview..... been with the AO team for over a year now, loving every minute of it..

ANFLYGIRL your post has a lot of truth in it. To everybody out there who is applying and have to re locate, Yes it was hard for the first 3 months, but i battled through it. Think carfully about it, seen a few people struggle and leave because of family commitments.

enjoy the interview

To everyone with interviews, congratulations, it's great there are a few people from here who have made it to this stage.

Remember, the group interview is your chance to shine above everyone else. Do your research on the company, walk in with confidence (don't over do it though) and smile. Believe me, your first impressions to the interviewers can make or break you.

Have a good nights sleep, be fresh, decide what you are going to wear 2 days before and have it ready so you are feeling comfortable and confident. Eat well before you go so your tummy doesn't rumble. Dont over do the cologne/perfume and suck those mints all the way to the interview. And this is a good tip, don't drink too much water before you go, you may be there for a while and this is not the time you want to excuse yourself, you want all the time to promote yourself. Ladies don't overdo the makeup and guys, forget the makeup.

Some may laugh at all this but these are things I have learnt over the years and I have seen it all.

Good luck, I hope you all do well.

Good Luck all with the interviews!

As Miss Leadfoot advises, be confident but not overly so, be knowledgable about the company, but not pushy.

We are looking for the right `fit'. Cairns is very different to Syd or Melb or even Bne, so please be serious about the move up north...we have lost several crew in the last week due to no southern basing. There are no guarantees that this will ever eventuate and the recruitment team will be looking at candidates carefully for the commitment to move.

We have a great team up here...and we look forward to more of you joining the swelling ranks!
