(Sorry, I shouldn't be facetious as it sounds like a nasty incident. I feel sorry for the crew involved :()

That it explains it....

Oh well, that makes perfect sense .... the offenders were from QUANTAS! That's why we at QANTAS haven't heard anything! :E

I Was There

Okay Lets Get the story Straight........ I was on the VS crew on that trip.

They VS guy that was so called "ironed" was infact very badly injured. As a trained nurse I was appalled by his injuries.

The QF (x2 flight deck crew) Push my female Crew member over on the floor. and as the male tried to protect her one guy punched him and took an Iron from the work surface and hit it on his head x3 times.

This took place in a room in the hotel where people go to use the iron as there are none in the room. There are vending machines in the room and the two VS crew were in there whilst getting food after returning from the truck. The two QF guys were not staying at the hotel and should not have been there.

I was horrified that one of my crew was treated in this way. Especially from two flight deck personnel. I see all of us as one big family when down route. However, this incident is horrifying and the crew members involved all positioned back to base and Virgin Atlantic are taking the matter very very seriously. The doctor reported if the blow to the guys head was 2cm to the left it could have killed him!!

The guys involved should be ashamed of themselve. Nothing but over trained animals.

Regards.

If this is indeed what happened, then I hope the two QF crew are reading this.

Enjoy the last days of your freedom guys, I hope you'll rot in jail. And the closest you'll ever come to an aircraft again is to suck out the sh1t from the bottom of it.

I hope VS pursue the incident to the end, and not get fobbed off by any authorities. Its the only way these peasants will understand.

Let's start with Virgin82's post.

"I was on the VS crew on that trip" .......but where you in the ironing room at the time of the alleged incident and an eyewitness to it or are you relying on 2nd or 3rd hand ,potentially biased description of alleged events ?

The QF (x2 flight deck crew) Push my female Crew member over on the floor. and as the male tried to protect her one guy punched him and took an Iron from the work surface and hit it on his head x3 times.

and the two VS crew were in there whilst getting food after returning from the truck.

was the female crew member with the two VS crew returning from the truck or was she already in the ironing room ? I am a bit confused.

Where was the 2nd Qf flight deck crew while the first Qf flight deck crew was allegedly attacking the first VS crew.
Where was the 2nd VS crew while the first VS was allegedly being attacked ?

How do you even know they were qf flight deck crew or indeed QF airlines at all ??
Did you see their ID's. Where they in uniform?

Did they tell you ?
Did they tell your informant ?

The two QF guys were not staying at the hotel and should not have been there.

The Qf hotel is the Holiday Inn .What indeed was their reason for being there ? Did they go to the Tokyu Hotel specifically looking for the two (three?) VS crew.

Where they invited ?

Where they in the room first or did they arrive after the VS crew ?

Was there an earlier incident during the evening either at the truck or perhaps someplace else that precipitated this alleged attack ?

Your brief description of the incident makes it out to be unprovoked and random.

I find this hard to believe .

I simply ask these questions to illustrate that there is obviously much more to the story and unlike some posters here who are ready to try , convict and hang the 2 alleged perpetrators on the strength of Virgin82's interesting but flimsy post , I prefer to pass judgement when all the facts come out.

I hope the the matter was reported to the Nippon cops at the time of the incident .Pursuing it retrospectively will be a hell of a job.

Hopefully there is some CCTV footage to assist .

ChixMukanwhalla - sounds highly plausible to me. 2 QF crew go the VS hotel crew room sniffing, get nowhere then try it on with different hostie leading to fisticuffs. Lets face it, QF crews have got a p*ss poor reputation when it comes to brawling and general drunken aggression downroute.

Nothing like a bit of speculation and generalisation first thing in the morning is there. Maybe we can stick to fact.

I've no doubt that if this event occurred that most QF crew would be horrified, embarrassed and would happily support any criminal / disclipinary action that takes place. Painting us all with the same brush isn't entirely fair I wouldn't have thought.

Handsolo, please provide factual evidence to support your claim. Thank you.

I was There

Dear All,

I dont want to give to much away due to the safety and security of all crew involved and hotel names etc.

However, the two guys QF were very drunk. One hit the VS crew member, whilst the other one was so pissed he just stood there (prob not sober enough to be a proper chap and stop his mate)

The VS guy who was hit was in the vendong area / ironing room with a female crew member. They both went to get food from the vending area.

We know they were QF guys as they informed my two crew members to this.
I did not see it first hand as I was away in bed. However, I was woken with a call from the hotel management and asked to come to the lobby where the two VS crew members were in tears and the Male crew member had blood and cuts to his head.

There was cctv and the two chaps were seen casually walking out of the hotel.

I think the QF chaps had far to much to drink got off the Bus at the VS hotel as u can get off at any - I have done so in the past and was not challenged.

They know VS party hard and may thought there was going to be a room party etc. As there was no party I guess they were just being idiots.

What happened happened and people may say what they think as people are intitled to this. However, as I said before this was an isolated incident and its a shame and terrible that this happened especailly "to one of our own".

The crew members involved are back flying and a little shaken. However, I am sure it will take more than a drunk brawl to keep them out of the skies! After all we are the coolest of the lot :}

Safe Flying :ok: and even safer landings :O

Hand Solo 2nd Feb 2006 05:19

blueloo - there have been a couple of well publicised events in NRT of late involving QF crew brawling with each other, which have led to the cancellation of certainly one, possibly two serviced back to Oz. Plus there was another well publicised brawl in the OF hotel in LAX. Also lots of anecdotal evidence from friends and colleagues who've had the misfortune to cross paths with a bunch of tanked up QF ockers downroute. Generally we just try to avoid QF downroute this days, always up for aggro and get bolshy when they lose at pool.

blueloo 2nd Feb 2006 08:28

well it takes 2 to tango

exvicar 2nd Feb 2006 09:16

Blueloo

Not always. Some idiots just go out looking for trouble & if you happen to be in the wrong time at the wrong place, which shouldn't include your own hotel, then there may not be a lot you can do about it. Lets see what the investigation comes out with. If, however, it is true, then i hope there are 2 more vacancies at Quantas.

lowerlobe 2nd Feb 2006 21:29

If this truly did happen whether the alleged boofheads were QF or not then this is amazing..

What is happening to the world ,we have parking and driving rage as well as many others..

I have been flying for nearly 30 years and we have always partied hard as most crew do but this never or very rarely happened in the old days and by that I mean 20 odd years ago...

There have been far too many occurences of assault of late..(one is too many)

Whoever committed this assault should be hung out to dry and not allowed to operate a wheel barrow let alone a commercial aircraft if it happened as explained..

frank foxworth 3rd Feb 2006 10:05

I doubt that drink-related acts of disorder are of a higher frequency at QF than other airlines .
Too much Ego ,testosterone and jet lag mixed with high doses of truck stop beeroo have played havoc with the meekest and mildest astronauts behaviour.

A couple of draught Asahi's and they think they are bad 'n mean rock and roll hellraisers .
The only distihguishing feature is the clothing and footwear.
Were the perps the other night wearing Hush puppies ?

Le 3rd Homme 3rd Feb 2006 11:15

Hush Puppies

Ooh Frank you are wicked!:}

lowerlobe 3rd Feb 2006 21:10

Yep that’s right hush puppies and safari suits….you can pick tech crew anywhere (eewww ugly thought…..but typical)

I had always thought that the older tech crew who were ex military guys were arrogant and a pain in the neck but at least they had discipline (and had probably seen more than enough violence during the war) which is more than a little lacking with the new breed who definitely think they are astronauts and everyone should be at their disposal.

If you think the episode in the Russell Crowe suit at the misadventure was the first in LA ,you might not have heard about the pool episode in Pasadena with the driver’s and some pool furniture. There was an incident which I remember from the old days in Karachi and the capt involved had to pay for the pool to be drained to remove broken glass and the cost of water at the time in Karachi was not cheap. There was also the time in Jakarta when someone wanted to find out if the pool bar (which was in the shape of an Indonesian fishing boat) would float...so late one night they launched it and you don't have to be a submarine captain to guess what happened.

At least with these (in the old days) no physical violence was involved, just some fun and financial compensation afterwards but not anymore apparently

Whoever did this in NRT should be driving semi’s not commercial aircraft but if it was QF tech crew ,it is being hushed up from the highest level because no word of it is being spoken at all…….The papers have not anything at all either ,maybe a lot of favours are being called in or maybe it wasn't QF crew at all just someone who said they were with QF?

crewrest 8th Feb 2006 10:38

Looking at the state of the QF blokes going into the Truck the other night I'm not suprised something like this happened.
