CC then pours a half and half mixture of tea and coffee into the cup
PAXboy, that's PRICELESS!!!! :p :ok:

How about this one:

Boarding a flight, passengers have had AT LEAST a half hour to use the bathroom. Make PA after PA for them, only to have them run up to the gate, apologising and saying "oh but I had to use the bathroom" (and stop and buy drinks and snacks no doubt)

Then they have lost their boarding pass and spend 5 minutes fumbling around in their bags for it, only to find it is in their pocket where they put it on going to the bathroom. Meanwhile you can just FEEL the flight crew getting antsy and wonder why it is taking so long:p

Also for every pax who on being asked to switch off the phone before boarding nodes "yeah ok" and continues on their merry way without paying attention to the slightest word you said

And the reverse, where flights come in requriring pax to walk across the tarmac, they flip open the phone while on the tarmac, despite the PAs telling them not to do so before getting into the terminal. And they think the arm-waving and gesturing from the ground crew is just the groundie getting some exercise....

My question is this ... do cc mind if pax engage them in conversation (NO - not trying to pick them up). Obviously if you're clearly engaged in activity - trolley, meal preperation etc then the answer would obviously be no.
I think it depends on the person and the situation!

Some people are clearly only attention seekers and can make you feel uncomfortable, but I personally enjoy talking to passengers. It's one of the reasons why I do this job, the various personalities and stories beyond the faces really amaze me. So if you're ever on one of my flights, please do come and chat. I have realised that when Pax are very kind/respectful towards me I end up really going the extra 100 miles for them.

However, back to the topic.......if I had one dollar for Every passenger who complains about the person in front reclining their seat....and for every pax who asks ME to ask THEM to pull their seat forward!!! What is it, Sir, did somebody bite your tongue off all of a sudden??????? :E

I havent yet figured how to copy quotes (any hints would be appreciated) But i cant agree more with fly by wire. When i worked in economy not a flight would go by with out a pax asking me to ask the person in front to bring their seat into the fully uncomfortable upright position so THEY can have more room.
Though if i had a dollar for the embarrassed expression and sniggers on other pax faces when my reply is "Yes sir, however you do realise that you will need to bring YOUR seat upright also"
And i cant believe the amount of times a pax has complaned about the person in front who is sitting in a full row of pax and has their seat reclined when they themselves have an empty row to stretch out in.
Or the amount of times a pax wearing a small tshirt sits with a jumper on their lap and asks you to turn the heating up because THEY are cold never mind how the other 339 pax are feeling and the crew are running round with sweat dripping of them.
Sometimes its just all me me me me me!:hmm:

pax checking in for a long haul flights: Is it a Boeing 737?

pax: we paid to pre-book our seats, are we sat together?
me: Did you not understand what you were paying for?

44kg in one bag, you're going to need to re-distribute the weight because the baggage handlers won't lift it
"yes, but it's ok because its for 3 of us"

me:I can't let you take that as hand luggage, it weighs 3 times the allowance in one item
pax: yes but it's between the three of us though
me: but you can only carry 5kg in one item
pax: you're being so unreasonable, we're travelling with a baby, it's full of baby food and nappies etc
me: ok fine, would you want it to hit YOU over the head

or for every passport check that needs doing, for the pax to tell me that its fine because THEY'VE already checked, ok well my job is pretty redundant then isn't it

how many times I've been told I don't need to put my labels on because they have written labels on the bags

After 3 announcements requesting everyone has their own boarding cards with the passports open - the amount of people that will insist on handing over a pile of 7 boarding cards and a pile of 7 passports.. or when they just hand over a boarding card and then say "oh do you need my passport as well?" or better yet people that stuff their passports with the flight tickets, boarding cards, landing cards and duty free leaflets then hand the whole lot over claiming they didn't know I needed

calling seat row numbers 1-11 and 30-40
sorry madam we're only boarding rows 1-11 and 30-40
oh I thought you said 1-11 and 13-40 :hmm:

usually on the canadian flights: oh seats 12A and B, we've paid for seats 11A and B...
yes madam, there is no row 11 on this aircraft though.
but we've paid for those seats though.
The seats in row 12 are the same as the seats in row 11.
So we can sit where we like?

You're flight will be boarding at 13.45
OOOO is it going early?
