Help!

HELP! :{
Just been offered a start date on 24th April, although EF LHR was discussed I was under the assumption the approximately 350 crew were need for WW LHR 6 month contract.
I have just had an Email confirming that I have been given EF LHR and dont know what to do!!!!!!!!!
I live in Hove, East Sussex and have to think of the implications involved in commuting to LHR on EF as opposed to WW.
I have been with my current Airline for 7 years and really dont know what to do now!!!!!!!!! Any thoughts or advice out there??????????????

newbagr 2nd Mar 2006 15:36

well i would say to you you ll have a lot more chances to stay at LHR than others on WW fleet insteaf of leaving or going to LGW so its not as bad.....

spunkydunkie 2nd Mar 2006 16:19

I think what really troubles me is the commute from Hove, not sure how viable this would be and also been on a six month contract I have misgivings leaving a permenant position after 7 years.

I was very pleased to be offered a postion but it all seems subject to change and would be grateful for any advice on roster patterns etc on a monthly basis to ensure that the commuting would not be a major issue.

spunky - im euro lhr and commute from brighton. it takes 1 hour door 2 door. its v rare that i have to check in during rush hour but if i do i leave 2 hours b4. the communte aint so bad if u get lots of trips, when doing a few there and backs in a row it can be a bit of a pain. as said there is prob more chance that u will be kept at euro lhr after the 6 months. if u have any more quest pm me

Hi friends,
I was offered to start on the 17th April course. Any idea if it is finally going to be WW (as I was told when called to be informed) or EF? As I have been reading things have been changing from one moment to another.
Also like some other colleague/s posts, any info re accomodation near LHR would be highly appreciated. The 5 week course will run into mid May, so do you think it is better to stay in a temp accomodation until end April, eg. b&b, rather than get a rented room? Are rental contracts normally for any minimum number of months? What kind of deposits are normally asked for?
Thanks and regards

luksy 4th Mar 2006 08:26

prat_eegle what were you told when given your start date?

I was told WW and later when I called BA for Info, they said if I was told WW, then WW it will be. So if you would like to know, the best way for you is to call the recruitment and ask. Gossip here won't give you any exact info on your start date.

Hope that helps

Cheers

L.

Nice one, thanks for the examples. :) :ok:

Kosher Class 4th Mar 2006 11:39

Actually new entrants may be doing long range flights too, BA have informed us there are legal problems with only rostering non-long range trips.

Whatever, ENJOY, you're gonna have a great time...

luksy 4th Mar 2006 11:48

Yupi, I'm all smiling....I love legal problems :D :D :D :D
