hi peach not so sure you want either of these 2, training courses are notoriously difficult and so are briefings depends on how good your english is, you could struggle but good luck anyway!

Hi peach,

I am starting with Excel this month. The interview was actually enjoyable unlike some interviews I have been to. There was 2 tests maths and General Knowledge, then you are asked to stand up and talk about yourself, then you are split into groups and given a scenario to discuss. You are then taken away and if successfull you have a 2 to 1. Everyone was really friendly and didnt stand over you all the time listening to you which was nice.

I dont know anything about Monarch.

I currently work for easyjet and most of our crew at stansted are spanish and italian and we welcome european crew so you might want to give them a go

Hi there,

I have had a success with one charter airline in the UK but turned it down. From my experience they take on first impressions, not necessarily experience. If you have been for a lot of interviews in the past this is the one where you have to look good. They are only hiring short term and they dont seem to waste time looking into people, first impressions count. My advice, although you may think it is only a charter airline, look good, be professional and dont be too "out there". Because the work is extremely arduous they want people who can deal with, how can I say, "not the regular passenger". Have fun, yes, but it's hard work.

By the way can someone PLEASE explain the meaning behind the maths test they all seem to do. I just dont get it?

Good luck.

accommodation LGW

Hi all,

I have just been accepted as cabin crew with Excel and need to find accommodation asap. I have to stay close to the airport as I am moving from melbourne and wont have a car. My contract is for the summer, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also is Excel a good company to work for? My first impression was a good one.

Thanks

Hi Peach

Good luck with your MON interview on the 7th. A top tip from a friend who's a trainer there - make sure you read that info booklet they have sent you through the post. In fact make sure you LEARN it!

They ask you some basic questions, the answers to which are in that booklet - and I have heard so many times that it's obvious candidates haven't bothered to read through the booklet.

Good luck

FF

hi formerflyer

my thursday in luton town was nice, and on friday i even enjoyed the interview! cos the interviewrs were really nice at all times, we were just 6 girls and they wanted us to be relaxed and yes, u were right, but i had no problems with the test cos i've readen that booklet dozens times!

well, they've phoned me today, but just to clarify some questions of the medical questionaire, so i'm reaaaaally nervous now, 2 weeks is such a long time to wait.

i'll post the first new i get, though

kind regards, clara.

Cool

CONGRATULATIONS

I hope you enjoy your time there - I flew for them a while back and have learned so much from it, even though it was just a summer season.

cheers

Good Luck with your new position, I am sure you will have a great time. I start training the start of April for a Dublin base operation. I worked for the company last year too and had a brill time, it was my first time to fly last year and it was the best.

Lots luck to you

Welcome aboard Peach. You should be checked on 330 and 300 and/or 757 / 320/1 so a mix of long and shorthaul. enjoy the training see you on the line. From the sharp end.

yeah, since i was offered the position there, i'm getting more info about the company and i like it now even more!! it's great to have my first chance in such a good atmosphere

thanks hapzim, i'm really looking forward to start!

well, i thought you could check just 2 sort of aircraft at the same time, do u know whether seasonal staff does longhaul? cos i was expecting to check the 320 and 321 for shorts and it'd be nice, but i'd love the 300 or 330!!

r u based at LGW?
