EK Interview in Bangkok -- Dubai based
Dear all,
I'm one of the candidates who is invited to join the preliminary screen process of Emirates Airline. It will be held from the 20th to 28th February,2003 in Bangkok. Therefore, I would like you to give some advices to be successful on the selection process.
I have heard that the first process of the selection process is measuring candidates' weight and height. Does the airline be serious about this matter?? and then if we can pass the first process, we have to watch the introduction video of the UAE and the airline. After that, we have to ask some questions to the interviewers. I would like to have the suggestions that what kind of questions I should ask or should not ask?? After finishing this process, we have to attend the writting examination. Could you please share me some of essay's topics that you have ever faced? I have to prepare any information about Dubai or the UAE for the writting exam? Then, the candidates who pass the writting exam will be devided into the small groups to process the group disscusion. Could you share me about the topics that you have ever faced? and how about the action, I should do if I got nothing to say because the members in my group have already said it? And does the body languge is essencial for this process? If I could pass this process, I have to attent one-by-one oral interview? Is it difficult? What kind of questions that the interviewers will ask me? and what about the psychological exam??
I would like to thanks you all in advance for the suggestions because now I really do not know how to prepare myself for the interview.

Ps: Do the foreign languages would be an advantage for the selection? I can speak fluently both of Thai and Mandarin, and a little bit of French. And what about the business attire dress that I should wear on that day? What colour the airline like? And I would like to know about the critirias of the Cabin Crew that the airline would like to select. Million thanks again for your suggestions.

Congratulations on getting an interv with emirates.
I had my interview with them last Nov and I didnt make it thru all the way but I could give you some info. First, we watched a video abt the airline and country. Then it;s the questions time. This is a good time to voice all your questions. Dont ask questions that will give the interviewer negative conclusion abt you. First impression is very important.
The test is a simple english test. Dont worry about it.
There's a lot of group discussion after the test. During my interview, the topic was "You have won US1 million and we have to share it among 25 other candidates, so what are u going to do with the money?"
After this is the elimination process. Shortlisted candidates are asked to go for another group discussion. From here, you are asked to build a tower from cardsm followed by anthoer group discussion. Well, I got eliminated after this discussion but some friends made it thru. And yes, you still have to go thru the 2-1 interview on another day. You have quite a high chance of getting the job once u manage to come to this stage!
