Question How long is the wait to become a Virgin?

Hi everyone,

Firstly, apologies for starting yet another thread about Virgin (Atlantic).

I have sent off an application form to VS, and received the standard acknowledgement letter almost two weeks ago, but nothing since.

Could anyone in the know explain to me, does this mean that it is highly unlikely that I've passed this stage, or is it simply the case that my application is in a queue somewhere waiting to be assessed?

I don't want to hassle the airline, even though they offer you a phone number, I'm just very keen to get an interview!

If anyone has anything to add, all replies will be greatly received.

Thanks!

FJW.

Hi FastJet

Not sure if your still interested but I applied to Virgin in Nov 02 and got a letter for an interview just before Xmas.

I had my interview the other day but unfortunately didn't get thru.

If you want any info on the interview you can PM me if you like?

Hope that helps

Hi FJW,

I'm not sure how long it takes to be contacted after the initial acknowledgement letter.

It could be that the recruitment department is snowed under with applications and it is taking time to sort through them all.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to make a quick phone call to check what is happening. At least it would demonstrate your pro-active skills and reaffirm your enthusiasm for the job.

Good luck.

Well, I applied early January, received the standard acknowledgement letter around end January. Then i got the invitation for an interview, I got this second letter on February 10th (sent on the 5th, stating I had 3 working days from the 5th on to call a number in order to book a suitable date.... yeah right... I live in Switzerland... they could have given me at least an extra 2-3 days!).

Anyway, I didn't call because I got another contract in the meantime.

I suggest you give them a quick call, since they definitely are still running interviews and as High as a Kite mentioned, doing so would show your enthusiasm and might get your resume to move from the bottom to the top of the pile!!!... Good luck!

Talking Thanks!

Thank you to each of you for replying.

Floaty , I too applied in early January, and received my acknowledgment letter at the end of January! However, still nothing further nearly 3 weeks later.

I don't mind waiting, I just wonder if it means I haven't passed the paper sift stage.

Also, I read your thread, congratulations on your job with Air 2000!

Disko Biscuit , Thank you for the offer, I will PM you.

High as a Kite , Thanks for the idea, I will call them.

FJW.

Virgin Application process

Hi everyone.

I know that it can be difficult waiting for a reply, I know as I have been there before. As someone who is crew and has a lot to do with the cabin crew training process I know that with a course of 20 initial crew starting every week it can indeed take a while to get back to each and every one of you.

PLEASE hold on and bear with the recruitment guys as they are working very hard to keep up with demand. Please feel free to give them a quick call.

Good luck

Hi Folks,

I work for Virgin Atlantic at the moment. As far as i'm aware they are looking for hundreds of crew this year due to the increasing amount of flights.

There are courses starting every two weeks and interviews going on everyday.

Upto 100,000 people apply for Virgin every year, so i'm sure you realise it takes a while for applications to be processed.

Good Luck and if you have any questions about the interview don't hesitate to ask.
