Air Atlanta - Pay and Conditions?

Hello there,

Me again.... Well after being succesful with Azzurra, I decided to decline the offer of employment. Have just seen on Aviation Jobsearch that Air Atlanta are recruiting for LGW and MAN. I have sent my CV off for MAN base.
Does anyone know about pay and conditions, also whats the interview like. Would really like to work for these for guys, fancy Summers in Orlando.
Hope you're all ok.

Take care and good luck with interview,

Hottowel xx

Slavery still exists. the proof? have a try with Air Atlanta. Miserable working condition, salary more like a tip. To give you an idea, they are looking for cabin crew for the new AirAtlanta Europe (based in England)and generously pay £9000 a year. They are a miserable bunch, having you constantely break every single duty rules and, if you work for AirAtlanta you're only a freelance, so if you start complaining about the legality of the operation they just don't call you back.

lefrancaoui,
you poor thing, sounds like you had a bad time. Not typical though. A lot of airlines pay only £9k, and then offer commission and allowances. Does build up in the summer, but in Feb guess flight pay isn't great. But Atlanta don't have cabin crew flying out of LGW, they are all in Jeddah, Indonesia, and other exciting places. A lot of flying at the moment between Brize and Kuwait...
Are they a miserable bunch? No, not really. Are they maybe a bit stressed at trying to get an AOC while crewing the Haj? Possibly.
Do they consistently break the rules? Do you even know which rules you were flying to? It would have been the Icelandic rules, and I would guess you probably don't know them as well as the guys in Iceland.
In all my dealings with Iceland (and they have been many) I have had arguments, laughs and frustration - no better or no worse than any other airline. And if you step back and look at what they are achieving, they are not doing too badly.
Of course, if you have examples of illegalities do pass them on, and I will happily take them up with Atlanta management for you.

Dear crundale, thanks for the offer but I don't need you to pass the proofs of illegalities made by AAI, it's already done to the proper civil aviation. talking about the knowledge of the rules , I thing that I can read the ops manual (you know, the blue one, chapter7 especially) as well as the Jar's. Unlike some of the clowns working at the office, I have 14 years of aviation background.
You seem to know a lot, so haven't you heard of some incidents that happened lately ,including the MOD flight (tail strike).......

By the way, Iceland is part of the JAR, arn't they???????

HEY,

I WORKED FOR ATLANTA BACK IN 2000 WHEN THEY FIRST OPENED UP LGW/MAN BASES AND HAD LOCAL CONTRACT ENGLISH CREW. WHEN I JOINED THE SALARY WAS COMPARIBLE WITH MOST OTHER UK CHARTER AIRLINES AND AT £9000 I GUESS IT STILL IS. FLT PAY WAS £2.07 HOURLY, SO DURING THE SUMMER WHEN YOU'RE FLYING QUITE A LOT PROBABLY EXPECT TO CLEAR ABOUT £1100 PER MONTH - AND AS I HEAR THEY ARE PLANNING TRIPS TO MCO THE HOURLY DUTY PAY WILL PROBABLY CLOCK UP QUITE A BIT.

THE GOOD THING ABOUT ATLANTA IS THAT ITS NOT A NORMAL AIRLINE, AND DURING THE WINTER MONTHS THERE ARE GOOD OPPORTUNITIES FOR BEING BASED AWAY SOMEWHERE, HAJJ ETC.
WHEN THE CONTRACT IS DIFFERENT AND DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE PAID BETWEEN USD80.00 - USD120.00 PER DAY WHILST YOU ARE AWAY FROM THE UK. THIS IS OF COURSE TAX FREE AND WHILE YOU ARE AWAY ACCOMODATION IS ALWAYS PROVIDED.

ON THE DOWN SIDE, BECAUSE OF THE KIND OF OPERATION THEY RUN, THERES NOT REALLY ANY SECURITY IN IT. WHEN WORK IS SCARCE YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE LAID OFF FOR A MONTH OR THREE AND BE OFF SALARY AT THIS TIME.

I HAD A BALL WITH ATLANTA AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. IF YOU HAVE NO TIES TO KEEP YOU IN ANY ONE PLACE THEN DEFINATLEY GO FOR IT! AS FOR THEM BEING A MISERABLE BUNCH, THATS RUBBISH! ATLANTA PEOPLE ARE PARTY PEOPLE, BIG TIME!!! THE ICELANDICS CAN COME ACROSS AS BEING A BIT STERN AT FIRST, BUT ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW THEM THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT TO YOU OR I.

THE ONE THING I WILL SAY IS THAT THERES NO ROOM FOR WANNABES THERE. GOING AROUND WITH THE 'BIG I AM' HEAD ON GETS PEOPLE NOWHERE! ONCE YOU JOIN AIR ATLANTA YOU WILL SOON SEE THAT YOU EITHER LOVE IT OR HATE IT! YOU HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE AND, OK, BEND A FEW RULES FOR THEM HERE AND THERE, BUT IN RETURN IT CAN BE GREAT FUN IF YOURE THE RIGHT KIND OF PERSON.

GOOD LUCK IF YOU DECIDE TO GO FOR IT!

I had a phone call on 28th Feb @ 2100 (bit late I thought!) inviting me to an interview the following week. I went on my hols the following day so told them I couldn't make it, and they said they weren't expecting to interview for MAN again this year but would contact me if they did.

Hope this helps

Hi MR

I sent my CV ages ago then they sent me an application form on the 26th feb with a letter saying closing date was 28th. bit of a rush to get it there on time...

Thanks anyway MR,

I'm getting quite worried as not many airlines seem to be recruiting anymore.. Just finished my job at Manchester Airport as our company has closed down. We had no idea and I'd turned down interviews with Virgin, Air 2000 and Britannia because i was really enjoying my job & I thought what the heck i'm 21, i got ages to apply for cabin crew

Not a happy person at the moment..

Lu

Air Atlanta Hiring

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any contact information for Air Atlanta Europe, (preferably a phone number?). My contract is up at my current airline, and am looking at flying in the UK again (used to fly as an in charge for BMI Brit Mid).

I emailed Air Atlanta Europe / applied online, but heard nothing back!

Have they already finished recruiting for LGW base? I know that MAN base was a 28/Feb deadline. It's getting late in the day now for applying for the Summer season - I don't want to miss the boat (plane)!

Also, are they hiring direct entry IFD's / Pursers (given that this is a new operation).

I called up European, but was excluded from applying as I didn't have a British drivers license!?!?!

Any info on Air Atlanta greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and Safe Flying to all!

As well as contact info for Air Atlanta, anyone have any info on Excel? Are they still recruiting? Are they just doing Med IT stuff or are they doing some longhaul stuff?

Thanks
