What were your previous Jobs?
Hey Guys,
Just wondering, what were your previous jobs before becoming a Flight Attendant?? And did you go to University??
If so, do you think going to University helped you out in anyway, in becoming a Flight Attendant??
Sorry if it is too personal...
Thanks Guys
Cheers
Mike

For me, started flying straight from Uni at the tender age of 21. Been flying for over 6 and half years now.You don't need a degree, GCSE's in English and Maths etc are enough but living away from home and meeting new people etc at Uni certainly helps you prepare for the job, especially if you join an airline abroad. Basically never hurts to have a degree but for cabin crew it isn't necessary.

DJ - Barman - Car Salesman - Hairdressing Wholesaler.
Getting a job as Cabin Crew is all about YOU not qualifications and degrees.
If you like people are good at handling them and have a lot of patcience then this is going to stand you in much better stead than a degree in history.
Get into an industry involving customer service first and see if it's for you - e.g. bar work - you'll find most cabin crew at some stage have done it (and sampled the products as well!!!). Also on a CV a string of jobs involving customer contact shows what type of person you are. See if you can handle the pressure of a saturday evening witha bar of people 3 deep all pissed and swearing at you because you didn't serve them first. If you can keep you head and still be polite after a few months of that then cabin crew may well be the job for you!!!
Good Luck!!

I started off working for the bank then got my degree inBeauty therapy. Travelled a for a few years then started in the Hospitality Industry,Bars restaurants. Ive just finally after years of trying become a Regional Flight attendant.
For me i really think the hospitality Industry helped to deal with people of all sorts, being able to keep a calm manner.

I did a nursing degree at uni. If you can go to uni go! It will give you something to fall back on. With the current climate you may need a Plan B!

Previous jobs
Went to the UNI, didn't like it. Then I worked as a company secretary for 2 years, I was sooo bored..don't think I will ever do that again!..
Then I escaped the office. I found a job in Horticulture, ate a lot of tomatoes there (I love tomatoes!).
But then I realised that since I was small I wanted to be a glamorous Flight Attendant! I remembered that advert on TV, about dry hands of a F/A and wonderful cream that helps..
Well, now I know it's not glamorous and I do use a lot of hand cream but I love it!

A part time waiter as a teenager, a full time labour office clerk for a month and FA for the past 25 years. My only regret is that I loved the job so much that I never thought of changing. Now I do diploma courses every now and then hoping for an opening in a ground job.
